Maryboro

Maryboro is a squared-timber pioneer home built by James Wallis in 1837, shown here in Anne Langton's contemporary sketch. It now houses an extensive and diverse collection illustrating the evolution of Fenelon Falls and the surrounding area from the pre-European era to the present. The oldest remaining building in the region, it exemplifies the rare luxuries that the gentry who settled in the Fenelon area enjoyed and features attractive period gardens maintained by the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society.

Conveniently located at the mouth of the Fenelon River, just west of Lock 34 on the Trent-Severn Waterway, the falls and the hydro-electric plant, it is within walking distance of other major attractions. Adjacent to Garnet Graham Park, which features a public beach and playground, Maryboro is on the picturesque Victoria Rail Trail, perfect for hiking and cycling. It is a short walk from the village's shops and restaurants. Crusies depart daily from the adjacent public dock.

Open May to October. Admission by donation. Free parking. Motorcoach friendly. Picnic area. Amenities nearby.
