INTRODUCTION We had a pre-opening season with a series of successful live presentations, such as The Second City National Tour Co. , and Elvis, Neil Diamond, and Jerry Lee Lewis Tributes. Most shows sold out! Now that we have begun to shake the dust off the walls, it is time to plan for 2006, and beyond. The Fenelon Theatre business plan calls for a five year ramp up to a full time year round Live Venue, and Cinema......as well as being the Community Arts and Entertainment Centre for the Fenelon Falls District. We will have a new stage, and our new stage drapes, sound system, computerized lighting system installed this spring. New air conditioning, heating, alarms, and electrical are pending. FILM PRESENTATION We hope to have the Projection Booth up and running in 2006 with a variety of Screenings ! Possible selections include:
LIVE PRESENTATION The Fenelon Theatre mission statement includes a very strong program and variety of Live Presentations: We plan to present live shows from the following roster:
NEW MEDIA / INTERACTIVE / FILM AND TV PRODUCTION In the future we plan to create a Television/Film Studio in the Theatre, and our other building in Fenelon Falls.This second building will house production shops, offices, rehearsal space, cafe, gallery, and artists accommodation, all within view of the Falls and the river We also plan to retire our Arc Lamphouses(projectors),in favour of new digital download technology.
MOVIEHOUSEBOYS The Fenelon Theatre has developed a new Canadian television Series "MOVIEHOUSEBOYS tm" (think "Red Green Show" meets "Tommy Hunter Show") which is planned to go into production in early 2007. This series will be shot in and around Fenelon Falls and the Kawarthas, and will bring employment, and we hope, excitement to the Fenelon Falls area.This series, we feel, will offer a huge business and tourism boost to the Kawarthas. FRIENDS OF THE FENELON The Fenelon Theatre is forming a not-for-profit wing: " Friends of the Fenelon" This "Board of Directors" will form a crucial part of the operation, programming, and fundraising for the ongoing operation of the Theatre. Anyone interested in joining the Board is asked to contact us at fenelontheatre@hotmail.com or fenelontheatre@yahoo.ca This "foundation" will allow access to government grants and loans, as well as the ability to issue tax receipts for donations. This is how most communnities have a sustainable community-based arts and culture centre.....such as the Fenelon Theatre hopes to be! COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING The Fenelon Theatre will be available to local user groups, service groups, clubs, etc, at a nominal cost for a variety of functions:
