Creating the perfect summer vacation at WCCA!

One of the many trilliums at WCCA in the spring under close examination.
Your caving adventure starts at WCCA.

Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Campground truly is your base camp in the Kawarthas - offering a wide range of terrific eco-camping activities, such as:
  • Hiking
  • Spelunking (caving)
  • Bird watching and wildlife observation
  • Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Swimming
  • Special thematic and interpretive programmes, from crafts to cooking to geological interpretation and more!
  • Mountain biking
The sand beach and shallow Indian River provides a safe swimming area for children. Our picnic shelter with central barbecue and picnic tables, is an ideal facility for family and group gatherings.

Enjoy canoeing? The Indian River provides wonderful canoeing possibilities. From your campsite or the water, the Indian River Watershed is a great place to view wildlife. At dawn or dusk, otters, beavers, loons, blue herons, deer and a profusion of birds entertain with their antics. For canoe trip suggestions in the area, ask our friendly staff for details.

The Conservation Area has 20 km. of trails, through a truly unique primordial landscape. Hike to the lookout point for a breathtaking view of the spectacular river valley! Our unique geological features include caves to explore (sturdy footwear, well-worn clothing and a flashlight are essential), including the ice cave, where ice doesn’t even melt in July heat! At another point in the trail, listen for the subterranean river rushing under your feet, and explore the kettles.
