A SPECIAL PLACE / THE CLOTHING GIVEAWAY

Presently located in the Old Post Office building by the Bobcaygeon Locks, across from the Buckeye. Established in 1987 by Dr. Julie Bjornson as a practical Christian outreach, this is a locally-managed independent charity and recycling operation, supported by donations from the community. Good used clothes and small household items may be left in the drop box or brought in when when facility is open (open most Wednesdays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon). Clothes are sorted by volunteers and made available free to whomever needs them for personal use. Suggested donation $2 to help with operating costs. A Special Place works with the local ministerial committee, food bank and disaster relief committee, and has helped in specific clothing drives worldwide, such as the 1998 floods in Central America. It is also used by thrifty people of all socio-economic strata, and by craft groups needing materials. For info phone (705)738-3573 or email egbjorn@nexicom.net
