Let's Flush Out the De-Amalgamators The Mayor's resolution of support for the City, designed, as he puts it, to "flush out" de-amalgamators is insulting to all councillors. What's next, loyalty oaths? Joseph McCarthy pioneered the technique of waving a list of suspected communists (mostly the senator's own suspicions) which he believed to be roaming around 1950's USA. We can see it now: "I have here a list of three (5, 7 etc.) known de-amalgamators." A councillor's first responsibility is to his or her constituents. Loyalty to a "City" is from a bygone era.
