PopTray Demo
- Why am I showing you this?
- avoid spam, viruses
- save download time, space
- keep garbage off your computer
eg. Today I had 15 messages. 10 were garbage (spam). One was >700k. I deleted the garbage, and checked the big one to see if it was worth downloading. It wasn't, so I deleted it too.
- Alternative ways to check your email:
- Your email program (Netscape, Outlook Express,...)
- You can set up your email program to get email for several accounts from several servers.
- This brings all of each email message onto your computer (attachments too). This can take time, and can be dangerous if the attachment has a virus.
- Webmail (or other online email. eg. Hotmail, Yahoo,...)
- You can check your mail on the server, and delete spam and large items
- Not all ISP's offer this service
- For multiple accounts requires logging in to each service (time consuming)
- Remote mail programme (eg. PopTray)
- logs in to all your accounts, downloads just the headers
- fast & easy
- Install
- Download from http://poptray.crause.co.za
- Virus check!
- Install: run the exe (self-extracting .zip file)
(you may do this from within an installer program, like CleanSweep)
- Set up
